Brand Guidelines for Bethesda Designs Brand Guidelines for Uncocooned About UsThe idea of Bethesda Designs was originally an ember and spark that was born out of the smoldering ruins of my mom's business in the late 1990s. Instead of taking off then, it lay dormant for decades in the heap of rubble, not fully dead and buried, but for a time, lost and forgotten. However, recently in 2025, like a phoenix, it arose from the ashes - resurrected to become a business entity home for my various creative outlets, such as authoring, speaking, coaching, mentoring, and my love for "All Things Design" - encompassing a wide variety of design I create myself or support as others design. The name Bethesda means "House of Grace", and in ancient times represented a place where God stirred the waters to bring healing and wholeness, shalom and peace to all who entered. And truly the name was inspired from tears, prayers, and the gentle, kind voice of a loving God who hears and sees us. House embodies family values, safe haven, shared meals, love, laughter, and hospitality. While grace represents graciousness, generosity, gracefulness and beauty, a soft and tender heart of forgiveness surrounded by boundaries that are both strong and kind, as well as that grace which allows us to remain stable and stand tall under pressure and unscorched when we walk through the fire. I created the Bethesda Designs logo with butterflies that represent transformation and metamorphosis. And a three-leaf clover as a nod to the work God did in my life when I was in Ireland. Most people do not realize that St. Patrick was not born Irish, but had been captured and enslaved there, later returning after he was free. And he used his freedom and the three-leaf clover to teach those in Ireland about the love and grace of God in the holy trinity of God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. This clover acknowledges that the goodness in my life did not come from luck, but from God who deserves all the glory. The few years leading up to 2025 were a winding journey of self-discovery, as God began to show me more about who he had truly created me to be. And He showed me that what seemed to be random, spaghetti, confetti, and a hot mess express were not random after all. I was not a mistake and not broken, but instead my wide variety of interests, experiences, and talents were mosaic pieces, developed intentionally and on purpose by a creator who put them together to form a beautiful picture which is unique and rare. "All Things Design" encompasses that in addition to leadership, at my heart, I am a designer who loves design elements in many diverse areas – some of which are interests I am simply supportive of, as well as areas where I participate in active creation:
